Lynches River Electric Cooperative will award an expense-paid week in Washington, D.C. to four high school juniors. Students do not have to receive power from Lynches River to apply. This year's tour is June 14-19.
Applications for the tour are available at the Lynches River Electric Cooperative office, on this website in the Community section and from high school guidance counselors. The deadline for submitting an application is Friday, Feb. 28.
Finalist will be selected to appear for an interview by a committee of judges. At the time of the interview, they will take a short test on their knowledge of electric cooperatives.

As participants in the Youth Tour, delegates will travel to Washington for six days of non-stop activities. Students will meet their legislators, visit historic sites, learn about cooperatives and make friends with high school juniors from accross the country.
Students selected for the tour are eligible to compete for a $5,000 college scholarship awarded to one South Carolina tour participant by The Electric Cooperatives of South Carolina, Inc. The scholarship will be awarded to a student who successfully completes a community service project. The scholarship will be awarded in August.
