Third-Party Notification

With work and family responsibilities it's easy for some things to get overlooked. Lynches River Electric Cooperative realizes that occasionally one overlooked item may be your electric bill.

The reasons are many-travel, illness, hospitalization, an older family member living alone, a first-time bill payer, and sometimes people just get busy and forget.

Third-Party Notification is a free service offered by Lynches River as a safety net to prevent interruption in your electric service. Under this program, Lynches River will notify by phone a designated third party if a member's account becomes past due and a disconnect notice is necessary.

The third party may be a relative, friend, neighbor or anyone the member chooses. Providing notification to a third party does not place any obligation on that party to pay electric bills for you and it will not necessarily postpone or prevent a disconnection if no payment is made. While the third party is not responsible for paying the bill, they may choose to pay it or help arrange for payment and avoid disconnection of service.

Third-Party Notification may be set up by the member, or by a concerned third party with the member's permission. The service provides assurance that someone will be notified if electric service is subject to disconnection for nonpayment.
