Washington Youth Tour

Each year, Lynches River Electric Cooperative sends two high school juniors to Washington D.C. to experience first hand democracy at work. The tour, scheduled in June each year, is designed to get students involved in the political process. Winners of the trip will meet members of their legislative delegation, tour sites of historical significance and attend cultural events.

Winners are chosen on the basis of their school and community involvement, communication skills and knowledge gained about cooperatives in the application process. To be eligible, students must be rising high school seniors and their homes or families' business must be served by Lynches River Electric Cooperative.

High school juniors who would like to apply for the Electric Cooperative Washington Youth Tour should call toll-free (800) 922-3486 or 672-6111 or follow the links for more information. To see what an exciting experience the Washington Youth Tour can be visit www.youthtour.coop
